Hello Hip Hop Heads and Horror Fans,

Today I will be reviewed supergroup Czarface (7L, Esoteric & Inspectah Deck) and Ghostface Killah album titled, “Czarface Meets Ghostface“. This is Czarface’s sixth project. In this project they continue the saga as the villain. This time around Ghostface Killah is the hero aka Iron Man! The production and music is all composed by The Czar-Keys (7L and Spada4). The intro track starts off as a boxing match of sorts. Introducing the heavyweight champion villain Czarface who will be facing off with Ghostface aka Tony Stark!

In the first track “Face Off” Ghostface starts off and spits that lyrical flow with ease that we recognize! But I gotta admit Esoteric went in on his verse! We then move on to the second track, which was their official single, “Iron Claw”. The production and beat goes hard! The next track “Czarrcade ’87” features only Inspectah and Esoteric. They vibe off each other and go back and forth. Using their braggadocio rhymes to say they are powerful and no one can defeat them musically nor physically.

The sound of this project has that action superhero movie vibe. Even though all 3 emcees are top tier lyricists the project was lacking something. There were only a few tracks that stood out to me and that I will come back to. I still enjoyed that they continued this project with the hip hop and comic book theme. The beats just seemed to sound the same after awhile, with the exception of the track “Iron Claw”. This made the production seem repetitive and bland. The lyricism was on point, maybe 2 or so tracks lacked in that arena, “Powers and Stuff” and “Listen to the Color”.

It is a decent project for those who love the Czarface album series. You will not be disappointed since it is consistent to their previous albums. I would just suggest more variety in the production next time around. Also more lyrics that display the villains (Inspectah and Esoteric) verbally fighting the superhero (who ever is the next featured artist). To end on a positive note the album art is dope as always!

Favorite Verses:

  1. Face Off:

“CZARFACE, that’s a brand that you can trust
Fans rush, we’re your favorite rapper’s man crush
Flow customized, got that Dapper Dan touch
CZAR-lam’s own, steppin’ out my zone, bone collector
    Eso’, Tony Starks, the Inspectah
Welcome to my ‘liseum, prep for the lecture” – Esoteric

  2. Iron Claw:

“Got garlic for vampires and fake ni**as who came to gossip
You can’t ‘dress me with that bullshit, you ain’t even my stylist
(You acting all big now), but you ain’t Christopher Wallace
See your girl on her knees, she just doing a solid” – Ghostface

  3. The King Heard Voices:

“Ay yo, my glass rhymes bulletproof, my bullets got glass tips
My guns are so big that they dislocate hips
Slipped disc leave ’em mangled like gorillas in the mist
And your rib cage get caved like you was punched with an iron fist
    Twisted, mind state’s evil genius
And my wordplay sauté right up with the meanest, slang
I drop lingo, bingo, I hit bullseye
Got your chick wetter than the hands of the pool guy
Who am I? I’m Mister GFK
First to set it off, last to run away
I don’t play, I’m a menace, fear like the dentist
Real street ni**a, you hear it in every sentence
Whether Ghost or Dennis, I’m a legend in the hood
The Wallabee Champ’s still up to no good” – Ghostface
